Here at Rise and Walk Church, the Pastoral Care Ministry is of utmost importance—it is God’s divine mission for us, something we do not take lightly. What is Pastoral Care? It is a compassionate ministry in which leaders and members provide emotional, relational, and spiritual support to individuals and families, both within and outside our church walls. It is our God-ordained responsibility to provide care to whoever enters the doors of our church. The term “pastoral” comes from the Latin word for shepherd, reflecting the biblical idea of guiding, protecting, and comforting a flock.
Core Principles
Empathetic Presence: Focusing on listening, kindness, and walking alongside someone rather than immediately trying to fix their problems.
Spiritual Integration: Offering comfort through prayer, Scripture, discernment, and shared faith, as desired.
Confidential Support: Creating a safe, non-judgmental environment to share personal burdens, fears, and difficult situations.
Pastoral Care is for every child of God in our church, beginning with our Pastors, Team Leaders, and other church leaders. We also train interested members and small group leaders to help facilitate the Pastoral Care Ministry and provide peer-to-peer support.
